Pigeon on seismic vessel

Post by Ifoundapigeon » August 16th, 2016, 12:34 pm

Hi all,

New here and don't know anything about pigeons!

I'm working on an oil and gas vessel to the south west of Ireland (roughly 300km off land).
I've found what appears to be a racing pigeon on the vessel, it has a gold band on one foot and a numbered white band on the other. Is it worth posting photos (I'm currently working so can't) or will it be unrecognisable/ nothing to worry about?

Cheers
Sam

No problem,

He's still here and looks quite tired. I've been throwing rice on the deck which he is munching up. Anything else I can do to care for him?

Thank you for update, any pulses that you have in the galley will help feed the pigeon, some fresh water in a bowl would also help the bird to recover. This may give more energy to make it find its way home. Thank you, Devo.
